Nicole has enjoyed an almost 20-year career in American higher education as a professor, administrator, nationally recognized commentator, and consultant. A former community college student herself, she is currently Professor of English at the College of DuPage in suburban Chicago, and a particular specialist in all things “community college,” including developmental education and placement, completion pathways, and faculty recruiting and professional development.
With repeated credits in The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, and Pedagogy Unbound, and as a monthly columnist for The Chronicle’s Vitae website, she is widely published on topics relating to higher education policy and practice, including online and blended instruction, improving faculty/administration relationships, and best practices in both teaching and supervision. A strong analytical thinker and research designer, Nicole is also a dynamic, frank, and enthusiastic speaker and team-builder.
