Working Title: Assistant Professor of Anthropology Official Title: Assistant Professor Employment Class: Faculty FTE: 1.0 Compensation: Competitive Terms of Employment: Tenure-Track Position Summary: The Department of Anthropology, Global Religions, and Cultures at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in archaeology beginning in September 2020. The position is open in terms of research specialization within archaeology, however, preference will be given to applicants that complement the existing strengths of the department. In terms of teaching, the responsibilities of the position include teaching a variety of introductory and advanced courses in anthropology and archaeology, including general education courses. The position includes the expectation of the regular offering of an archaeological field school and maintenance and use of our archaeological collection. Depending on the area of expertise, the successful candidate may contribute to interdisciplinary programs such as Environmental Studies, Women's and Gender Studies, as well as UW Oshkosh's ethnic studies and global citizenship/scholar initiatives. Responsibilities Qualifications Required: -Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field required. ABDs with the expectation of Ph.D. completion within one year of start date may apply.
-Record of excellence in teaching
-An active and productive research agenda related to anthropological archaeology
-Experience maintaining and curating archaeological collections Preferred: -Research focus in topics that complement existing departmental strengths
