Department Summary
The Department of Mathematics is an academic unit of the University of Oregon within the College of Arts and Sciences. The department is dedicated to education and research. It provides instruction at all levels of mathematics, from undergraduate required courses through an extensive graduate program leading to PhD in several specific areas of mathematics. The department has over 30 tenured/tenure-track faculty members who are actively involved in research and instruction; 5 postdoctoral scholars; approximately 20 career and pro-tempore instructors; over 65 Graduate Students/Employees (GEs) who teach lower division courses; and nearly 100 undergraduate student workers. The Department of Mathematics has over 300 undergraduate majors.

Position Summary
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 9-month position for a postdoctoral faculty member in the Department of Mathematics. This position is not tenure related. The position begins September 16th and is renewable for up to three years based on needs and available funding.

Minimum Requirements
PhD in mathematics, statistics, or closely related field, an outstanding record of research potential in an area of interest to the department, and evidence of teaching ability.
