Department Summary

Position Summary
The Executive Assistant to the Dean provides professional, confidential, daily support for
the Dean of the School of Law and manages the operations of the Office of the Dean.
The position requires excellent communication and leadership skills and an ability and
desire to establish and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with students, law
faculty and staff, and University of Oregon colleagues.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelors degree and three years experience in a senior administrative role; or a minimum of ten years experience in a senior administrative role.
• Experience in a professional office setting providing support to one or more executives.
• Experience supervising administrative personnel.

This position must be able to work occasional nights and/or weekends to fulfill special projects and events.

• Superior organizational, administrative, customer service and leadership skills
• Superior oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write on behalf of the Dean.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and utilize a range of communication
channels with diverse groups of students, faculty, administrators, staff, and members
of the bench and bar from a wide range of backgrounds
• Ability to manage stressful situations with tact and diplomacy and to use sound judgment at all times.
• Proven ability to handle highly sensitive and/or confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in handling correspondence, travel and calendaring for an executive or Dean in a higher education setting
• Knowledge of public relations, fundraising, and University of Oregon programs.
