The History Department of the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in the history of the ancient Mediterranean world for an initial appointment beginning August 2020.

All sub-fields, specializations, and chronologies within this field are welcome, provided the candidate has demonstrated capacity to teach courses in classical and ancient Mediterranean history. Candidates should be prepared to teach lower-division Western Civilization surveys as well as upper division and graduate courses in ancient history.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have the Ph.D. in History or related field in hand at the start of employment.
