Job Description
The Spanish program in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor of LatinX Literature and Culture position. This is a three-semester non-tenure track appointment beginning January 14, 2019, and ending in May 2020.
Qualifications
Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and Ph.D. in hand before December 2018.
Job Specific Qualifications
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate an active record of research and publication in Latino literature and cultural studies and excellence in teaching. Teaching duties will include six courses per year, including both undergraduate and Master's-level. In addition, the selected candidate will advise MA students on their final projects. Varied national and cultural representations within the Latino field and a strong theoretical approach are desired in both research and teaching.
