Job Summary
The Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA) is seeking a Research Project Administrator II. OSPA is responsible for administering extramural grants and contracts awarded through the University of Kentucky Research Foundation. Services are available to all University faculty & staff and include assistance with budget preparation and administrative requirements of proposals, review, negotiation, and acceptance of awards, and preparation of subcontract documents.
This position is independently responsible for registrations of UK, faculty, and staff users on sponsor proposal submissions and award retrieval sites. This includes resolving access problems and proactively evaluating access needs to avoid delays in the proposal submission process. The Research Project Administrator will be a subject matter expert in the use of proposal submission software, award management and tracking systems and will train faculty and staff on these and other electronic tools related to sponsored projects. Working closely with OSPA Directors, this position will maintain the OSPA website. Reports related to OSPA proposal and account activity will be produced by the Research Project Administrator II. This position will serve as the point of contact for the State of Kentucky Research Institutions Matching Fund.
Other duties include administration of external sponsored projects University wide, establishment of sponsored project accounts, interpretation and implementation of University policies & procedures, Kentucky state law, federal laws & regulations, and sponsor guidelines, proposal review, proposal submission, and other award negotiation with sponsors. These duties require detailed knowledge of UK's Administrative Regulations, and Business Procedures for other offices such as payroll, purchasing, and accounts payable.

CRA (Certified Research Administrator) preferred.
