Job Summary
The Department of Geography at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky is searching for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Geography in the area of food geographies, racial justice, black radicalism, and urban community to begin in August 2018. Our goal is to build upon and strategically expand the Department's existing strengths in critical human geography, political ecology, geographies of race, religion, and difference. Areas of interest might include (but are not limited to): food security and food deserts, faith and social justice, black geographies, race and food, race and religion.

This successful candidate is expected to teach introductory and advanced courses in human geography, race and food, race and place, environmental policy, and social justice and the environment. Ideal candidates will be able to contribute to our interdisciplinary offerings in Environmental Studies and African American and Africana Studies. A PhD in geography or related discipline is required at time of appointment.
