CLINICAL DIRECTOR - WELLNESS CENTER

Olive Harvey College is seeking a Clinical Director to help oversee our Wellness Center, the college's counseling center. The Clinical Director will enforce and implement institutional, legal, and departmental policies concerning the Wellness Center. The Clinical Director will recruit and supervise interns from local graduate programs in social work or clinical psychology and execute the day-to-day Wellness Center operations. This includes the organization, assessment, and advertisement of the Wellness Center events and collaboration with community partners.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates staff of an assigned Wellness Center.
  • Serves as the clinical director for counseling services.
  • Develops, implements and monitors all policies relevant to the Wellness Center.
  • Recruits and interviews intern candidates from local graduate programs in social work or clinical psychology. Provides supervision for interns.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relations with local graduate programs in social work or clinical psychology as well as with the community partners to improve the Wellness Center operations.
  • Collects evaluations, activity logs, and other documents demonstrating the activity and effectiveness of the Center.
  • Prepares periodic and annual reports about the Wellness Center activities for management review and evaluation.
  • Sponsors monthly events with community based organizations. Assigns interns to participate in the events.
  • Manages the day-to-day activities of the Wellness Center, creating a professional, welcoming atmosphere for the individuals accessing the center for services and information.

  • Doctorate degree (Ph.D., Psy.D.) in Psychology from an accredited college or university, OR a Master's degree in Social Work (M.S.W.); OR a Master's degree (M.A., M.S., M.Ed.) in Counseling. Psychology or a related field.
  • Doctorate degree in Psychology strongly preferred.
  • Must be currently licensed by the State of Illinois as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Three years of program administration experience in a student counseling center within an urban commuter college or university environment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of counseling services and the supervision of counseling staff.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of CCC's requirements and state and federal laws pertaining to the confidentiality of health and medical records (HIPPA, FERPA, and the Jeanne Clery Act).
  • Knowledge of individual and group psychotherapy and counseling theories and practices.
  • Knowledge of community resources and social service agencies.
  • Knowledge of management and supervisory practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with and relate to a culturally diverse student body, faculty and staff.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues in an appropriate manner.

  • Special Requirements:
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • In and out of district travel may be required.

  • Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within 6 months of hire.
