Job Description:This is a 12-month, non-tenure-accruing position that will be 100% research (Florida Agricultural Experiment Station) available in the School of Forest Resources and Conservation, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, at the University of Florida. This assignment may change in accordance with the needs of the unit. Duties will include planning, coordinating, and carrying out research related to forest carbon, nutrient, and water dynamics. The faculty member will seek contract and grant funding actively to support his/her program. The faculty member will engage in Extension activities in his or her program area as appropriate.
The successful candidate will participate actively in undergraduate and graduate education by chairing and serving on graduate committees, supervising thesis, dissertation and undergraduate research, and publishing research results with students. Faculty are encouraged to participate in professional development activities related to teaching and advising and may teach courses and seminars.

Minimum Requirements:A doctorate (foreign equivalent acceptable) in forestry, ecology, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates should have demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, interpersonal relationships, and procurement of extramural funding. Candidates must be supportive of the mission of the Land-Grant system. Candidates must also have a commitment to IFAS core values of excellence, diversity, global involvement, and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:Five years or more of postdoctoral experience focused on carbon, water, and/or nutrient dynamics of forest systems. Experience with analysis and synthesis of large forest experimental datasets for carbon, water and nutrient pools and fluxes, and publishing results in peer reviewed journals. Experience collaborating with and coordinating input from researchers from multiple disciplines and multiple institutions. Experience with set up, maintenance, operation, and analysis of data from eddy covariance systems in tall forests, and publishing results in peer reviewed journals. Experience using statistical analysis software.
