Classification Title:

AST/ASO PROF

Job Description:

The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research invites applications for two full-time, 12-month, tenure-eligible faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are especially seeking promising or accomplished scientists with expertise in areas relevant to Precision Medicine, including pharmacogenomics, metabolomics, translational bioinformatics, and data science. The successful candidate will have an interdisciplinary, team-based clinical translational research program. Appointment as an Associate Professor requires demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, research, scholarship, and teaching proficiency that are consistent with appointment to that rank at a research-intensive university. Candidates at the assistant professor level are expected to demonstrate strong potential for establishing a rigorous, independent and federally-funded research program. These positions may be based at the Gainesville or Lake Nona Campus.

All faculty in the department contribute to our professional and graduate education programs. We value a diverse faculty, and particularly encourage applications from women, underrepresented minorities and veterans.

The Center for Pharmacogenomics – located in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research – has a mission to improve drug therapy outcomes through research, teaching and service focused on genetically-guided drug therapy decision-making, drug discovery and drug development. The Center is a leading institution in pharmacogenomics research and education.

The successful candidates may be associated with other Centers in the College, which include the Center for Natural Products, Drug Discovery and Development (CNPD3; pharmacy.ufl.edu/mc/research/research-centers/cnpd3/); Center for Food-Drug Interaction Research and Education (pharmacy.ufl.edu/pc/research/research-centers/), and the Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology (cpsp.pharmacy.ufl.edu). Additionally, the College is closely partnered with Centers, Institutes, and laboratories at UF, including the Southeast Center for Integrated Metabolomics (SECIM; secim.ufl.edu), and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (ctsi.ufl.edu).

Advertised Salary:

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D. or Pharm.D.) with formal post-doctoral research training. Preferred Qualifications:

Previous teaching experience, demonstrated scholarship, and experience in mentoring students are preferred. Candidates with existing extramural funding to support part of their salary are preferred.
