Job Description:

The Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology (CPSP) in the Department of Pharmaceutics (PC) at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (COP) on the Lake Nona (Orlando) campus invites applications for a full-time, 12-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The successful applicant will have a commitment to the CPSP's mission, team-based research program and teaching activities, as well as to establishing a nationally recognized externally-funded research program.

The Center’s mission is to improve the discipline of drug development and regulatory science by developing innovative translational research strategies in quantitative clinical pharmacology, including personalized medicine. The successful candidate is expected to build an externally funded research program among the disciplines of pharmacometrics, systems pharmacology, bioinformatics and/or healthcare outcomes based on modeling and simulation (laboratory and in silico) processes. The research program is expected to include private industry, foundation and/or federal funding in both basic and applied modeling and simulation. The primary focus of the CPSP is on research that informs decisions related to drug development and/or regulatory science.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. or Pharm.D. Degree (or equivalent) with relevant post-doctoral training in experimental (basic) and applied quantitative clinical pharmacology. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential. FDLE Criminal Background Check Required.

Preferred Qualifications: Soft skills are essential to team-based research, and in order to provide clear verbal and written communication between trainees, faculty and external collaborators. Clinical experience is an added attribute for the successful candidate as an understanding of patient care context is helpful for training and mentoring Pharm.D. students, PhD and post-doctoral research associate trainees.
