Job Description:

Serve as primary reviewer of all incident reports that are initially generated by the Shands Security staff or collected from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) each business day, and assess for inclusion in the UFHSC-J crime or fire logs in accordance with the Clery Act. Coordinate updated case report information from JSO to ensure any crime incident indicated is updated in the crime log should the status of the case change within 60 days of the original report. Ensure the crime and fire logs are accurate and publicly available.

Facilitate and maintain systems, databases, equipment, training, documentation, programmatic efforts, and other items associated with the UFHSC-J alert system in coordination with appropriate stakeholders, including UF Public Safety. Ensure that all components are in place, actively functioning, routinely tested, and can be used to provide the UFHSC-J community with either an EM or TW (as necessary) on a 24 hours/day, 7 days/week (24/7) basis. Maintain a file of all EMs, TWs, and associated performance data.

Conduct extensive Clery Act research to ensure compliance with ever expanding regulations. Maintain said research, including (but not limited to) legal reviews, periodic Clery Act updates, training updates, webinar participation, and general counsel consultations for the UFHSC-J.

Serve as primary point of contact (POC) for all UFHSC-J CSAs. Ensure that all UFHSC-J CSAs are identified and given notice twice each year regarding their CSA requirements. Ensure all UFHSC-J CSAs are trained on their CSA requirements and that said training is documented properly for future reference.

Develop and maintain an annual crime tracking method whereby all crime information collected from Shands Security, JSO, or any CSA is documented by both crime type and Clery geography.

Prepare and issue the UFHSC-J annual security and fire safety report (ASFSR) each federal fiscal year (1 October through 30 September). Review and update Clery Act information in ASFSR and include updated crime statistics for the previous fiscal year. Notify the entire UFHSC-J community, including perspective faculty members, staff members, and students of the publication of the ASFSR no later than 1 October

Establish and maintain a Clery Act compliance filing system that is used for storing all documentation necessary to provide proof of compliance for all Clery Act requirements. Organize filing system to enable rapid availability for any/all documents that may be requested by a DoE audit team. Maintain all files necessary to demonstrate compliance over seven (7) national fiscal years.

Liaise with JSO to ensure accurate and timely information flow for all incidents that occur around any Clery geography associated with the UFHSC-J.

Coordinate with appropriate UFHSC-J and/or UF staff member to plan, coordinate, and conduct an annual exercise designed to test the ability of the UFHSC-J to evacuate the facilities, test critical infrastructure components, and evaluate established protocols.

Attend training classes and seminars (as instructed or assigned), likely involving travel outside the State of Florida for several days at a time.

Serve on UF, inter-institutional, and other committees (as directed or requested).

Work with UF Public Safety staff members on various projects and duties (as assigned).

Advertised Salary:

$64,000.00 - $69,000.00

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience, or an associate's degree and four (4) years of relevant experience
