Job Description:

The candidate will demonstrate advanced knowledge of modern front-end web programming techniques and workflow processes, as well as clear and demonstrable understanding of visual design and user experience principles. Will research new website technologies for improvements in usability and performance, ensuring UF HEALTH websites are leveraging modern and tested website solutions. The candidate will work within existing AHC web design policy standards, and work with the appropriate members of the AHC community to help expand and enhance those standards, ensuring that UF Health web properties meet business needs. The candidate is expected to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision needed. The candidate will create and maintain positive and professional interactions with technical and non-technical team members, end users, and AHC executives. The candidate will track time and effort and prepare status reports for progress reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Development, Prototyping and Implementing: Develops and programs web solutions per UF HEALTH web standards. Develops prototype sites to aid in the user engagement process. Implement sites in a production environment. Supports the organization's strategies and goals relative to internal and external communications. Involved in the full systems life cycle; designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting software, quality assurance, testing, deployment

Analysis and Design: Develops technical, functional and visual design specifications from users' requirements and business needs. Creates multiple website design concepts and evaluate the best fit. Contributes to the design groups efforts to enhance the appeal of the organization's online presence.

Continuous Improvement: Researches the web design field for new technologies that improve site usability, productivity in developing web and/or maintaining websites. Regularly reviews high-quality websites of other organizations and critically evaluates UF HEALTH standards against them. Regularly review websites of UF HEALTH peers and competitors, and critically evaluates UF HEALTH standards against them. Maintains knowledge of current web based technologies. Regularly reviews important site use metrics and produce meaningful reports that speak to a business problem or opportunity. Assists with analyzing current processes and procedures to create future configurations which lead to gains in efficiency and cost savings.

Advertised Salary:

Starting salary is $55,000 to $75,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and three years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 4 years experience developing and successfully launching websites, web user interfaces, front-end web application interfaces, and conceptual designs. Preferred platforms are WordPress and Drupal.

Technical Skills – Expert knowledge of modern front-end website technologies and techniques (i.e., responsive web, CSS3 and pre-processors, HTML5, modern javascript libraries, and W3C standards, PHP), web analytics, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Ability to develop websites that adhere to Section 508 and applicable accessibility standards. Working knowledge of Adobe graphic design software to layout website concepts.
