Job Description:

The Department of Physical Therapy in the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida invites forward-thinking, energetic, creative physical therapists to apply for a Clinical Lecturer/Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Clinical Education position. This ambitious department, with more than 20 core faculty members, is strongly committed to the teaching of contemporary, evidenced-based practice and to preparing our graduates for future practice trends in the rapidly evolving health care system. The UF Department of Physical Therapy was recently recognized by US News and World Report as a Top 10 physical therapy program and has been recognized nationally within the profession as a program of excellence. We are looking for someone to join our team who is committed to our aspirations for attaining higher levels of achievement and excellence.

This is a 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track position. Duties for this position will include advancing the clinical education curriculum by ensuring the quality and consistency of our student clinical experiences, strengthening partnerships with current and future clinical sites, and adapting to novel models of clinical education. Additionally, this position will include teaching in areas of need and the applicant's area of expertise, and contributions to departmental committees and community service initiatives.

Salary and title will be considered at the Clinical Lecturer/Assistant Professor level based on the qualifications of the candidate.

Advertised Salary:

Salary is negotiable; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree for the Clinical Lecturer title or Doctoral degree for the Clinical Assistant Professor title. Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in the state of Florida.

Preferred Qualifications:

It is preferred that applicants have teaching experience, at least 3 years experience in clinical practice, and specialty certification. Experience with service learning, service at the state or national level and an awareness and direct experience with current issues affecting DPT education is also preferred. Candidates must have experience supervising students in an academic and/or clinical environment. Candidates who demonstrate initiative, are problem solvers, and an ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, clinicians, and others with diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
