Job Description:

The University of Florida Department of Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure/non-tenure track Ast/Aso/Full Professor, within the Division of General Internal Medicine. Rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualification. The successful candidate will practice within an Internal Medicine academic group practice seeing a personal panel of patients as well as teaching and supervising medical students and residents. The division also has research opportunities in quality and patient safety, medical education and other areas.

The division is comprised of 31 faculty members specializing in the comprehensive medical care of adults. We are dedicated to developing safer, more reliable, and more available systems of ambulatory and inpatient care. Faculty within the division are consistently recognized as among the best clinicians and educators in the UF College of Medicine. The UF Department of Medicine is a national leader in cancer, cardiology, gastroenterology, kidney disorders and pulmonology. In addition, UF Health Shands Hospital is ranked among the top-50 in three specialties in the 2014-2015 edition of America's Best Hospitals, published by U.S. News & World Report. Resources available for professional development at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center include leadership, education, and research tracks within a Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI), formal mentorship programs and opportunities for teaching, research and other forms of scholarly activity.

The Gainesville region has an inexpensive cost of living, nationally ranked middle and high schools, and superb weather with multiple year-round recreational opportunities including biking, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and cave diving.

Advertised Salary:

The annual salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and education.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must be board-certified or board eligible and eligible for a Florida Medical License.
