Job Description
• Responsible for the recruitment, orientation/interviews, and intake of new scholars; recommends policies & procedures.
• Advises/coaches Project BEST scholars and monitors their academic progress (intrusive/appreciative advising).
• Develops/monitors Individualized Academic Plans ( IAP ) and tracks students' progress.
• Facilitates the delivery of required program services. Tracks and documents student participation in project services.
• Develops collaborative relationships with academic advising, student services, career development departments and other TRiO programs; makes appropriate referrals to other campus resources as needed.
• Maintains appropriate and accurate student records; maintains contacts in Blumen database.
• Manages unit's social media and marketing efforts and supervises graphic designer
• Analyzes data, generates and/or assists with, and disseminates periodic reports (monthly and semester).
• Develops and facilitates program workshops and manages online modules (via Canvas)
• Participates in program assessment: Institutional Effectiveness Plan (IE), Trans formative Opportunities & Annual Report.
• Attends various university meetings and serves on various committees; participates in campus partnerships/events to promote TRiO Project BEST .
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Academic Support Services and/or the Assistant Director, Academic Support Services.


Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

Preferences
• Responsible for managing one or more academic support services functions and for formulating and recommending policies and procedures to effectively administer such programs.
• Experience in managing an academic caseload including documentation of records, communication with students, ability to problem solve, and make appropriate referrals
• Program development experience related to advising and career planning
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations of college students.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.
• Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.


Special Conditions
The position is provisional and funded through August 31, 2020, by a U.S. Department of Education grant.
