Job Description
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Research and faculty with activities related to sponsored research programs and/or projects for the college
  • Create and process purchase requisitions, travel requisitions, and expense reimbursements for all college sponsored project accounts
  • Enter proposal information into UCF eRA system on behalf of faculty and research staff for all proposal submissions
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Research with the reconciliation of project and overhead accounts, preparation of contracts and grants reports, and maintenance of grant resource files
  • Provide faculty with monthly financial reports for active projects
  • Coordinate with sponsored research collaborators to ensure their commitment and eligibility, and that all appropriate collaborator documents are collected, current, accurate and complete
  • Monitors the routing of the internal proposal through the university system to ensure errors are corrected and timely approvals are received prior to internal deadlines
  • Assist the Assistant Director in reviewing and ensuring accuracy of project cost share requirements, including the source, amount and approvals of committed cost share wherever necessary
  • Coordinate with other departmental and college staff for the monitoring and facilitation of sponsored research activities
  • Advise and assist College of Nursing faculty with the identification of sponsored research opportunities
  • Assist the Associate Dean of Research with management of Nurse Faculty Loan Program
  • Maintain databases of deliverables and reporting requirements for all active sponsored research projects, proposal-related documents/information (biosketches, current and pendings, facilities, etc.), and overall sponsored research activity of the college (number of proposals submitted, awards received, etc.)
  • Support the Assistant Director in the development and coordination of college research workshops
  • Coordinate virtual meetings as needed by individual research teams
  • Work closely with Assistant Director in performing activities associated with a grant close-out (i.e., accounting, final reports, record archive, web site closure)
  • Responsible for up-to-date knowledge of UCF systems associated with grant management ( UCF Financials and/or PeopleSoft functions, Office of Research eRA systems, etc.)
  • Engage in continuing professional development to improve the value of research administration services
  • Handle sensitive and confidential data (e.g., personnel data, salaries, FERPA )
  • May act on behalf of Assistant Director of Research Programs in her absence
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned


Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.


Additional Minimum Requirements


Preferences
  • Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills and should have the ability to work with diverse populations
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • One (1) year of experience in research and grant administration
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and critical analyses abilities
  • Prefer experience with PeopleSoft Financials
  • Prefer knowledge and experience with UCF policies and procedures
