Dakota State University is seeking a Sponsored Programs Coordinator.  This position provides assistance to faculty, staff and groups in the development of written proposals for support of scholarly activities, professional development, equipment acquisition, and instructional improvements through external funding. The Coordinator plans and administers grant-related workshops and seminars, provides fiscal planning support, ascertains that appropriate assurances and certifications, and other materials as required by the funding agency are signed and included with proposals. This person also reviews all proposals for adherence to University, sponsor, state, and federal policies governing and regarding funded projects, conflicts of financial interests, animal welfare, and research involving human subjects.


Requirements for this position include an earned Bachelor's (advanced degree is preferred) and at least three years of experience in the development and administration of externally funded sponsored programs and associated funding agencies.  Experience in electronic submission of applications, word processing/spreadsheet applications, and knowledge and application of federal regulations and agency guidelines is needed. Strong evidence of writing and editorial skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and University administrators in diverse disciplines is also required.
