Illinois State University, School of Information Technology invites applications for a tenure track position of Assistant Professor in Computer Science, beginning August 16, 2015.


To be considered, applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Applicants with expected completion of doctoral degree before March 1, 2016 will be considered. Candidates should demonstrate the potential to teach software engineering and core computer science courses. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of an established research program in software engineering or a closely related area and the potential to publish in high-quality outlets.


Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate/graduate courses, develop a focused area of scholarly research, supervise graduate students, and provide service to the University, School, profession and community.


Salary, Rank, and Tenure: Salary is commensurate with professional experience and preparation. This is a tenure-track, nine-month position with potential for summer employment.


The School: The School of Information Technology is one of eight units in the College of Applied Science and Technology. The School offers undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Network and Telecommunications Management and a Master of Science in Information Systems. The undergraduate CS and IS programs are accredited by ABET. The School has approximately 550 undergraduate and 90 graduate students and 17 full-time faculty.
