The College of New Jersey, Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education, is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Early Childhood Education to start August 2015. The successful candidate will be required to perform all duties of a full-time faculty member. These responsibilities include: teach undergraduate/graduate courses (day and/or evening courses); engage in scholarly research; supervise student teachers; advise students; and participate in service to the college, the discipline, and the broader community. The successful candidate should be prepared to teach courses in theories and curriculum models for birth to 8 years; early childhood growth and development; and related field-based education courses. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in diverse school settings (infant/toddler, preschool, and/or grades K and 1) and have content expertise in social studies, math, science, or literacy.



The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate in Early Childhood Education and at least three years of teaching in early childhood settings or public school settings, as well as experience teaching in the college classroom. Candidates who are ABD will be considered if all degree requirements are completed by August 31, 2015.
