Assistant Professor: Health Services Administration

The Position:  The Department of Health and Community Services is searching for a tenure track Assistant Professor to start August 2015. Position is contingent on funding.  As a university that educates students of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, we value a diverse faculty and staff. Minimum Qualifications:  The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is any of the following degrees with an emphasis in health services administration: PhD, Doctorate in Health Administration (DHA), Doctorate in Public Administration (DPA), Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), or a Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH). Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, the doctorate must be complete prior to August 2015.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  Candidates must demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching with experience and interest in interactive instructional technologies, and have potential for research and grant writing. Preference will be given to applicants with work experience in health services administration.

 

Responsibilities: This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching at least three of the following courses: Management Principles in Health Services, Health Care Quality Management, Management of Healthcare Organizations, Financial Management of Healthcare Organizations, Health Services Administration Capstone, and Internship Seminar; scholarship such as grants, etc.; and service to the department, college, university, and community. Collegiality and the ability to collaborate within and across disciplines is highly valued. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

                       

Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience.

 

The Department:  The Department of Health and Community Services provides our students with a multi-disciplinary, competency and service-based curriculum to work effective in diverse communities, healthcare financing and delivery systems, and health organizations to meet emerging national and global health needs.
