The Global Education Office (GEO) at the State University of New York, College at Plattsburgh is seeking qualified applicants for the position of International Admissions Assistant.  GEO supports SUNY Plattsburghs strategic goal to Increase Global Experiences and Multicultural Competencies through enrolling international students from a wide variety of countries and cultures, and fostering participation in study abroad opportunities. This full-time, college year position will be integral to the office's international recruitment and admissions efforts.

Responsibilities include: Travel to domestic and foreign destinations to participate in direct recruitment activities (for example, college fairs) for 6 - 10 weeks each year; Review of international applications including initial application review; Updating applicant information in the Banner Student Information System to ensure requests for missing documents are timely and accurate; Reviewing documentation; Assisting with admissions decisions; Validating conditional acceptances; Completing final transcript review; Assist with application completion and deposit yield activities; Communicate with applicants at all stages of the admission process in a variety of means including email, telephone, Skype, and social media; Assist with planning and implementing international student orientations for fall and spring semesters; Serve on college committees as elected/appointed. This position will require occasional evening and weekend work.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; Excellent written and spoken communication skills; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Ability to interact effectively with a variety of audiences including prospective students, their families, and educational professionals; Willingness and ability to travel independently worldwide; Willingness and ability to work on evenings and weekends; Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Valid driver's license and passport.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience traveling outside North America; Experience with SUNY Plattsburgh student services, academic programs, and student resources.
