Direct a comprehensive graduate recruitment, marketing, and admissions program in a manner consistent with the University mission. Participate in the development of the University's enrollment plan and oversee the implementation of student recruitment strategies. Reports to the Dean of Graduate Studies.  

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Develop and implement admissions and registration objectives, policies and procedures; ensure the consistent administration and compliance of admissions, registration, records and related policies and procedures.

Develop, implement and maintain a recruitment and admissions strategy that will attract and retain high quality graduate students.

Compile and summarize admissions, enrollment, and matriculation data for the preparation of reports; assist the Dean with data analysis that inform strategies related to territory management, target market development, financial aid leveraging, persistence, and other enrollment management objectives.

Plan recruiting trips, prepare recruiting reports, and evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting efforts; assist with the design or modification of admissions and recruiting publications in print and electronic form for the University as well as individual degree programs.

Develop marketing and communications plans; manage and implement marketing and communications techniques.

Represent the University at various functions related to recruiting graduate students and marketing the institution.

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with academic units and other relevant offices within the University (including: Registrar, Financial Aid, Alumni Relations, Marketing and Communications).

Supervise support staff in the Admissions Office.

Serve on various departmental, divisional, and University committees.

Perform related duties as assigned.  



Master's Degree in Higher Education or a relevant field. Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in admissions in a University or comparable environment.

Knowledge Of:
Personal computer applications (i.e. MS Office Suite, ERP required, Banner preferred)

Budgeting; marketing, communications, and strategic planning; enrollment management; student recruitment and retention strategies

Enrollment management best practices

Laws and regulations pertaining to enrollment management (federal and state)

Skill In:
Written and interpersonal communication with the ability to communicate effectively with all components of the university and external constituents

Implementing projects

Assessment of program initiatives

Ability To:

Gather, analyze, modify and implement information and feedback

Direct others and manage projects

Develop and implement plans

Work as an effective change agent
