The Department of Political Science at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in American Politics at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor beginning fall semester 2015. High scholarly promise and demonstrable excellence in teaching are essential. We seek candidates with expertise in at least one of the following areas: public policy and administration, political behavior, political and civic culture, and ethnic, urban, or environmental politics. Ability to teach a course on research methods, and a willingness to engage in departmental service at a level commensurate with rank, are highly desirable. Teaching includes a mix of introductory and upper-level courses to satisfy a five-course annual load; all Colgate faculty are expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. . Entry-level candidates are expected to have completed a PhD prior to or shortly after the date of hire.
