Student Affairs is an innovative, team-oriented division that provides integrated, student-centered educational activities that empower students to lead engaged socially responsible lives. This drives us to provide as many high-touch interactions as efficiently as possible while following best practices in the student affairs field.

The Center for Student Involvement & Leadership (CSIL) is a part of the Division of Student Affairs. The division provides an array of intellectual and experiential opportunities for students to become engaged citizens through its various departments which support student organizations; social events; athletics; theatrical productions; community and service learning opportunities, as well as student support services that enhance their collegiate experience.

In addition to the duties enumerated above, the Student Involvement and Leadership Specialist will:
- Serve as the evening Student Involvement & Leadership Specialist.
- Support the goals and objectives of CSIL within the needs of the John Jay community, and provide excellent customer service to students/faculty/staff.
- Oversee and serve as advisor to the Campus Activities Board.
- Work with student leaders and organizations to develop and implement programs and activities of student interest, with a foundation in learning outcomes.
- Assist and work with student organizations in planning and implementing events and programs; managing expenditures while creating sound organizational structure.
- Develop partnering relationships with companies, vendors and persons offering recreational and educational opportunities and services for students.
- Assist in the planning, managing and execution of College-wide and CSIL annual / special events such as Weeks of Welcome, John Jay's Got Talent, Graduate Salute, and Black / Latino Caucus Weekend.
- Provide supervision to evening and weekend student activities/events as needed.
- Serve on planning committees as needed.

This position reports to the Associate Director of CSIL and expected to start January 2015.

Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.

- Ability to work Monday 'Thursday 3pm-11pm and Friday 10am-6pm
