Job Description: The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, seeks a full-time faculty member at the level of Associate Professor or Professor on the tenure or non-tenure accruing track to serve as Chief of the Division. Major responsibilities include leading division faculty in providing high quality, patient service focused inpatient and outpatient care, conduct research and educate residents and students in all aspects of teaching, patient care and research. This position will provide services to both UF Health Jacksonville and St. Vincent's Medical Center Southside. This position will report to the Chairman of the Department of Surgery for academics and the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services for operations at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville. Following is a general description of duties and responsibilities: Provide leadership to division faculty and continue to improve community awareness of the division services. Provide and maintain a high level of quality in-patient intermediate care services in all aspects of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Provide clinical teaching of trainees in Cardiothoracic Surgery and participate in the educational program. Responsible for excellent communication with primary care physicians. Assist in marketing the Cardiothoracic Surgery Program to community physicians and managed care organizations. Be responsible for monthly division meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested. Minimum Requirements: MD\/DO and BC\/BE in Thoracic Surgery. Experience in minimally invasive cardiac and\/or thoracic surgery is required.
Preferred Qualifications Thoracic aortic stenting and robotic surgery skills are a plus.
