Job Description: The Director is responsible for the leadership, supervision, and management of the Counseling and Wellness Center. The Director is responsible for the budgeting, planning, policy development, provision of direct counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, and outreach services, as well as oversight of the professional training program, accountability, and advocacy for the department. The Director works collaboratively with other units within the Division of Student Affairs as well as other campus agencies and academic units and maintains close relationships with the Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education graduate training programs. The Director is expected to participate in research/scholarly activity and affiliate with the department of Psychology and/or Counselor Education as clinical faculty. The Director serves as a Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. The Counseling and Wellness Center is a component of the Division of Student Affairs and the Director serves as a member of the vice president's council.
Minimum Requirements: Minimum qualifications include seven yearsexperience in university counseling centers with evidence of significant administrative experience; experience working with culturally diverse populations. Successful applicant must (1) have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology or counseling from an APA accredited or CACREP accredited doctoral program and (2) be licensed or license-eligible as a mental health professional or psychologist in the state of Florida within one year of starting. Employment with the University of Florida is contingent upon the results of a criminal background check. The Director of the Counseling and Wellness Center is a full-time position with clinical faculty status.
