S/he will lead UHS's excellent staff in promoting personal and public health through the provision of quality clinical services, affordable student health insurance, public health policy, health education, and emergency response that meet campus needs.

Carnegie Mellon stands among an elite group of top-tier international universities. Known for its preeminence in technology, business, humanities, and the arts, the University has campuses in Pittsburgh, Qatar, and Silicon Valley, and degree-granting programs around the world, including Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and Latin America. CMU is home to more than 12,000 students, 95,000 alumni, 5,000 faculty and staff, and seven schools and colleges. CMU will look to the new director of University Health Services to respond to growing service demands and the distinct needs of undergraduate, graduate, and international student populations. S/he will inherit a unit with a strong reputation on campus and high-functioning team that has been exceptionally well managed by Anita Barkin, DrPH, MSN, CRNP. Carnegie Mellon will search nationally for a health care leader with an advanced degree in a relevant field (medicine, nursing, public health, and/or health care administration); who shares CMU's core values of dedication, innovation, and collaboration; and who brings a record of success leading a health care operation to deliver consistently excellent care and service, ideally with proven effectiveness in an academic or university setting.
