Apparel Product Development: The Department of Textiles, Merchandising & Fashion Design in the College of Education and Human Sciences, University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks a 9-month tenure track Assistant Professor with expertise in garment construction, flat pattern drafting, apparel product development and sourcing, and have experience and/or background in one or more of the following: apparel fit analysis, 3D body scanning, performance and/or functional wear design and development. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in keeping with the needs of the department, with an emphasis on product development and sourcing, clothing construction, product lifecycle management, and fashion trend analysis. Participate in curriculum development and develop new/innovative courses, including courses for online delivery, in area(s) of expertise. Participate in service to the department, the college, and the university. Participate in both undergraduate and graduate recruitment activities. Develop a funding base for scholarly and/or creative work in collaboration with other researchers both within and external to the department, directed at advancing the department's teaching, research and/or outreach missions. The faculty member's research and scholarship efforts will be integrated into teaching activities that will vividly demonstrate to students the relationships linking theoretical investigations and industry applications. Minimum requirements: 1) Earned doctorate in textile and apparel product development or closely related area, 2) Identified research direction with interdisciplinary/collaborative promise, 3) Evidence of scholarly activities commensurate with rank, and 4) Computer and technological literacy and a commitment to integrate technology into scholarship and teaching.
