Oral Biology Tenure Stream Faculty Opportunities

 The Department of Oral Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is actively recruiting two tenure-stream faculty at the rank of assistant or associate professor depending on experience and qualifications. 

We are seeking outstanding individuals with the potential to establish and maintain an independent program in the field of craniofacial and dental research (e.g. craniofacial tissue engineering, craniofacial genetics, craniofacial development, biomaterials, mineralized tissue engineering or molecular biology). We are seeking candidates from diverse research backgrounds however their primary research focus should be applicable to craniofacial biology.  New faculty will also be expected to contribute to the educational mission of the School and Department through teaching first professional and/or graduate/resident courses in your discipline.  Priority will be given to individuals who have a demonstrable capacity to develop a vigorous research program complimenting the current research efforts at the School of Dental Medicine Department of Oral Biology. 


The mission of the department of Oral Biology is to promote multi-disciplinary research in the area of craniofacial biology and translation of these findings into the clinical setting. The Department of Oral Biology is a home to two major research centers focused in Craniofacial and Dental Genetics and Craniofacial Regeneration.  The environment at the University of Pittsburgh provides excellent research support facilities, outstanding DMD, PhD and MD students and residents, and the opportunity to work within one of the nation's top ten NIH-funded medical research institution.
