Practice of Diplomacy
The Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University invites applications for appointment as professor of the practice of diplomacy, pending Provost approval. The successful candidate will be a distinguished practitioner with a career in diplomacy either as a foreign service professional or as an international civil servant. Career diplomats with ambassadorial experience and practitioners with equivalent experience and stature, including at international organizations, are encouraged to apply. The professor of the practice will teach courses in areas such as diplomacy, foreign policymaking, and/or international organizations, as well as advising and mentoring students pursuing professional careers in international relations. We are open as to functional and regional expertise and to academic and professional training in all relevant disciplines including international relations, international law, international economics, international politics. Prior teaching experience will be considered a plus.
