The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement Services for the Development and Alumni Relations Area.

Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Relations, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement Services has direct management oversight of the following: Stewardship and Donor Relations, Research Services, Information and Donor Services, Development Services and Operations, and serves as liaison to the UMass Amherst Foundation Finance Committee.


This position serves as Executive Financial Officer with responsibility for oversight of all budget management and planning, including the financial affairs of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Foundation, Inc. (UMAF). This position also serves as the Administrative Officer with responsibility
for oversight of personnel functions and issues, including the University of Massachusetts Amherst Foundation, Inc., along with a variety of other administrative functions.


The successful candidate will be a leader of the highest integrity with outstanding communication skills, superior relationship building skills and excellent management skills, including the ability to lead through influence, persuasion and cooperation.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree; 10 + years of progressively responsible business operations and supervisory experience; substantial personnel, budgetary and administrative management experience; excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; outstanding supervisory and organizational capabilities; excellent analytical and strategic planning capabilities; substantial experience working with senior level executives; proven ability to manage multiple units, projects, and priorities as well as compile, synthesize and present complex data and information, in addition to the ability to work with diverse groups of people.


Preferred Qualifications: an advanced degree; previous experience in a university or large complex setting.
