Under general direction of the Director, Data and Analytics, this is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with campus constituents to understand their analytics and reporting needs. As a key member of the new Data and Analytics team, provides data modeling and report building skills to support the organizational decision making process, and provides knowledge of statistical analysis on as-needed basis. Designs, develops, tests and maintains reports and processes to meet user decision making; works with departments to define business problems and questions and performs analysis; works with data architects or application specialists to identify the data sources required to support an analytical project or development of a complex report; and uses reporting tools (i.e. OBIEE and Tableau) to build reports and dashboards. Evaluates diverse data sets, identifies new types of data and data sources to determine patterns; synthesizes the data into meaningful metrics and numbers; monitors data quality, identifies inconsistencies, and development of recommendations to optimize business processes and performance. Develops prototypes and other agile tools to quickly demonstrate new concepts, reports and dashboards. Performs other duties as assigned.
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field. Five years of full-time, progressively responsible field-related experience, systems implementation and PeopleSoft development.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Extensive knowledge of: programming, systems analysis techniques, and systems development principles; and relational database principles. Functional knowledge of: OBIEE, OBIA, PeopleSoft, SPSS, Access, Excel, SQL Server, Tableau, Crystal desirable. Knowledge of statistical analysis. Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts; knowledge of SQL writing scripts for analysis, testing and support activities; and knowledge of and experience with ETL tools. Knowledge of higher education data and academic environments. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Highly self-motivated; team-player. Ability and specialized skills to: use the following software applications and operating systems: Windows, Linux; code, test, and debug software applications; provide ongoing project leadership to technical development staff; analyze problems and propose effective solution; understand functional and procedural requirements and develop alternative solutions; relate system solutions to departmental management and staff; and develop and make presentations; conduct meetings; develop and provide user training; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

The salary range for this classification is: $6249 - $10,033
The anticipated hiring range: $6249 - $7917, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO PASS A THOROUGH DEPARTMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION INCLUDING FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE (LIVESCAN).
