Tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Food Science and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

 

Position: Tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level (65% extension, 35% research) specializing in dairy foods manufacturing. Research areas include, but are not limited to: the manufacturing, functionality, quality, or safety of dairy foods or their components. This is an annual (12 month) appointment.

 

Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will: 1) develop a competitively-funded and integrated research and education program focused on the needs of Wisconsin's dairy foods industry; 2) develop, adapt, and assess educational activities to address emerging industry needs or issues; 3) become a leader in the nation's most successful dairy outreach program.  

          

This position is of long-term strategic importance to the mission of the Food Science Department and the UW-Madison campus. Excellent opportunities exist to collaborate with institutional scientists/staff on the campus such as the Wisconsin Center for Dairy Research.

 

The position carries a commitment to the functions of Extension, research, and instruction, as well as professional and university service as appropriate to the position and rank.

Requirements:  Earned doctorate in Food Science, Dairy Science, Microbiology or a related field.
