The Director of the Office of International Services (OIS) leads and oversees a centralized office that provides comprehensive immigration services to the Universitys 4,000+ foreign students, research scientists, faculty, staff, visitors, and their dependents on all campuses.
The Director reports to the Associate Dean of Students and is a member of the senior staff in the division of Student Affairs.
Specifically, the Director is responsible to:
(a) develop, evaluate, assess, and enhance the delivery of services;
(b) ensure compliance with all immigration-related federal and state laws, regulations, and mandates (this includes, but is not limited to SEVIS)
( c ) act as liaison to appropriate offices in the federal Departments of Labor, Homeland Security and State
(d) coordinate with the Office of General Counsel for immigration, international agreements, foreign national employee matters, and deemed export controls
(e) develop policies and procedures
(f) manage budgets and ensure fiscal accountability, and
(g) lead and manage office administration and professional staff.
In addition, the Director is responsible for strategic planning, inter office coordination, and all associated administrative and operational functions.
