Reporting to the Vice President and Associate Provost for Global Programs (VP/AP), the Managing Director, Strategy and Communications will be a key Global Programs team member, as a part of the Office of the VP/AP within BU Global Programs, identifying, developing and managing opportunities of globalization in higher education in close coordination with the VP/AP. The Managing Director will also work closely with the VP/AP with input from other senior Global Programs leadership to develop, lead, and maintain (1) an effective strategy for building collaborative connections within BU and with foreign entities, (2) supportive efforts related to special University and unit initiatives, (3) efforts to enable successful implementation of a comprehensive internationalization strategy, (4) an effective communication strategy for Global Programs and its divisions, and (5) efforts to manage and present data and other information, that further enhances the University's broader global strategy. He/she will supervise the Senior Manager for Communications, Web Manager, a Program Manager, and a Communications Specialist.
B.A./B.S., Masters Degree preferred, excellent managerial, communication and organizational skills are required, as are the ability to work cooperatively with senior administrators, faculty, and staff, demonstrated ability to effectively manage groups and projects and a minimum ten years professional experience. Must be able to travel.
