DEPARTMENT MARKETING STATEMENT:
The Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences (EEES) department administers degrees in Environmental Engineering (BS), Geology (BS), Biosystems Engineering (BS, MS, PhD), Hydrogeology (MS), and Environmental Engineering and Science (MS, PhD). EEES is a vibrant academic community with 21 full-time faculty members, approximately 186 undergraduate students and 107 graduate students. The environmental engineering and science graduate program is consistently ranked among the top 25 programs nationwide. Research areas include sustainable energy systems, environmental process engineering, biosystems engineering, ecological and bioprocess engineering, hydrogeology, environmental health physics and radiochemistry, environmental chemistry, and sustainable systems and environmental assessment. Clemson University is a land-grant institution of South Carolina, enrolling approximately 17,000 undergraduates and 4,400 graduate students. Applications and nominations are being sought for the position of Chair of the Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences department at Clemson University. Candidates must have 1) a plan for effectively managing a diverse group of faculty and staff who oversee multiple degree programs, including three ABET-accredited programs, 2) a clear vision for elevating the national prominence of EEES, and 3) a distinguished record of scholarly research and publications. The chair will coordinate efforts to acquire research funding that draws upon the diverse capabilities of EEES faculty and demonstrate leadership in advancing the department's educational missions. Candidates are expected to merit appointment as a Full Professor with tenure.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.
