Call for Assistant/Associate/Full Professors

 

TheSchoolofMechanicalandMaterialsEngineeringatWashingtonStateUniversityinvitesapplicationsformultiplefull-timetenure-trackortenuredfacultypositions. Thesuccessfulcandidatewillbeexpectedtoteachundergraduateandgraduatecoursesinmechanical engineering,mentordiversestudents,developcollaborativeresearch,establishanexternallyfundedresearchprogram,andpublishscholarlywork.Applicationswillbeconsideredforpositionsatallrankscommensuratewithqualifications.TheschoolwelcomesstrongcandidateswhocancomplementandcollaboratewithexistingresearchprogramsintheSchool,theCollegeofEngineering&Architecture,andindustriesinWashingtonincludingaerospace,advancedmanufacturingandmaterials,renewableenergy, and sustainable design.

 

TheSchoolofMMEhas30tenuredortenure-trackfacultymembers,including10fellowsofprofessionalsocieties,1000undergraduatestudents,and150graduatestudents.ThecityofPullman,nestledintherollingwheatfieldsofsoutheasternWashington,offerssmalltowncharm,lowcrime,andPac-12athletics.ItwasnamedbyBloombergBusinessweekasthebestplace toraiseyourkidsinWashington.

 

Qualifications include (1) earned doctoral degree in mechanical or materials engineering or a closely related field prior to the start of the appointment, (2) demonstratedrecordofscholarlyworkandpotentialtoestablisharobustresearchprogram, and (3) demonstratedexcellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskills,andcommitmenttocollaboratewithdiverseinternalandexternalgroups.
