Detailed Job Description: The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Rochester Institute of Technology seeks a medical anthropologist for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning fall semester 2015. Medical anthropology is a dynamic and growing field that includes, but is not limited to, global and environmental health, genetics, epidemiology, human rights and social justice, disability studies, community and public health, culture and healing, medical humanitarianism, health disparities, nutrition, medical ethics, and reproductive health. We seek candidates with theoretically informed field research; the geographic specialization is open. Candidates must be able to teach introductory and upper-division undergraduate courses and contribute to a dynamic, diverse department, its multiple degree programs, and student mentoring. Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in funded research; a record of peer-reviewed scholarship; and experience in teaching, with a commitment to students. Applicants must have PhD in hand by August 1, 2015.
