JOB DUTIES:  The Director of Admissions is responsible for attracting qualified students to the University by directing staff toward reaching enrollment goals, directing admissions strategies, and promoting the University. The Director will develop a comprehensive market and data-driven approach to recruitment efforts that lead to the attainment of the Universitys enrollment, retention, and graduation goals; analyze trends in enrollment and marketing activities; continue programs that are effective and make modifications to other programs; devise and implement innovative sales strategies for recruitment and admission activities; stage various open house events; establish admissions operational strategies; implement change as needed and/or required; communicate and enforce values, policies, and procedures; implement recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and communication programs; plan, monitor, appraise, and review job contributions; plan and review compensation strategies; work with all campus Colleges to coordinate and promote recruitment efforts; serve on the University's scholarship selection committee; and perform other duties as required or assigned.  The Director will work to foster teamwork and provide leadership and management for the Admissions staff, manage office operations, and provide programmatic and budgetary directions.  Travel, evening, and weekend work is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum requirements include a bachelors degree, masters degree preferred; plus five years of related admissions experience in higher education.  Demands of the position require a thorough working knowledge of recruitment and admissions strategies; excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to work with diverse populations effectively; strong leadership and critical thinking skills; and effective organizational and budget astuteness. The candidate chosen will have a proven record of success in admissions; strong customer-service skills; knowledge of financial aid and scholarship marketing strategies; and exceptional organizational and planning expertise.  Experience with SCT Banner software is a plus.  Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.
