Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) in Curtis, NE, is seeking candidates for an academic administrative position as the Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations available November 3, 2014, or sooner.

This position will report to the Dean and serve as an integral member of the senior management team. The Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations (ADFO) operates as the chief operations and fiscal officer of the college. They will be responsible for the development of Nebraska College of Technical Agricultures (NCTA) financial management strategy and operational support and contribute to the development and implementation of the organizations strategic goals. In addition to the strategic components, the ADFO will be charged with developing and implementing sophisticated policies and procedures both in the finance and general operational realms. This position requires a finance executive with operational experience, a higher education background, and a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management to join in a high-growth, mission-driven organization. The ADFO must be an experienced, multi-faceted and creative business professional with a thorough understanding of the complexities of a multi-funded organization and have strong supervisory and management skills.

Requires a Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field from an accredited institution; 5-10 years experience managing budget and expenditures for a large division/organization. Must have a proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization.

Preferred qualifications: Masters Degree in business administration preferred; CPA preferred; 5 years experience in higher education administration ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience gained in a high-growth organization; knowledge of the OMB Circulars that pertain to institutes of higher education strongly preferred. Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills; strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise; entrepreneurial team player who can multitask; superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers; creative problem solver; self-reliant and results oriented; energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administrative initiatives; exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, Nebraska College of Technical Agricultures collaborators and staff; ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
