The University of Massachusetts Amherst has an opening for an Associate Director of Planned Giving and is seeking a highly experienced, motivated and energetic individual to join its Development team as the campus continues with its comprehensive campaign.

The Associate Director of Planned Giving is a senior fundraising officer responsible for establishing and implementing the strategic direction of gift planning programs with assigned liaison units and with individual prospects. Key responsibilities include building and enhancing relationships with gift planning prospects, both directly and indirectly through University fundraising colleagues, leveraging marketing, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of complex outright gifts, life-income gifts and estate gifts, and administering the gift planning program.


Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. More than 5 years of fundraising or financial planning experience; Experience with senior level executives and ability to work with volunteers; Knowledge of planned giving instruments; Strong administrative, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability and willingness to travel. 


Preferred Qualifications: Advanced business degree. 3 years of planned giving experience.


Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
