The Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position. This is a non-tenure track position with an emphasis on teaching, and is renewable annually with full benefits, with the possibility of promotion to Senior Lecturer after seven years. The position will begin January 2015.

 

The successful candidate will teach eight courses per year (4 each semester), including introductory-level undergraduate courses, with occasional flexibility to teach upper-division courses in areas of teaching competency. Applicants should be flexible educators, able to engage in a variety of curricula and pedagogical approaches while capable of teaching beginning to advanced levels of undergraduate lecture and seminar classes, and/or studios and workshops to both majors and non-majors alike. Applicants with a background in art education, art history, design, drawing, and photography are particularly desirable. Candidates should hold a terminal degree, MFA or PhD; they must show success in teaching and possess excellent communication and organization skills. Teaching experience beyond the TA level or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
