Latin America (colonial or national periods). The History Faculty, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, invites applications for a full-time historian of Latin America after 1492, beginning July 1, 2015.  Historians of Mexico, the Spanish-speaking Caribbean, Central America, or South America including Brazil will be considered.  The position is open rank; all candidates must have Ph.D. by start date of employment. The successful candidate will demonstrate innovation and excellence in scholarly research as well as a strong commitment to teaching.
