Job Description: The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research (PTR) in the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (COP) invites applications for the position of Course Director (Year 2). The Course Director will hold a faculty appointment in PTR that is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Clinical Associate or Full Professor. The Course Director will report to the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs and Accreditation and the Chair of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research. The Year 2 Course Director will primarily oversee delivery of all Patient Care courses in Year 2 of the PharmD curriculum. The Course Director will also contribute to other curriculum needs that align with the individualclinical expertise. During each Patient Care course, the Course Director will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of faculty members who have primary responsibility for developing and teaching course content related to the pharmaceutical, clinical, social, behavioral and administrative sciences. As the course is delivered, the Course Director will be the primary person responsible for assuring the quality of all learning materials and assessments and maintaining close communication with students across four campuses. The Director will also be responsible for guiding facilitator faculty members on each campus. Facilitator faculty members conduct the active learning and small group sessions. The expected outcome in guiding the facilitator faculty is consistency and excellence of teaching and learning across all four campuses. The Course Director must have strong administrative and organizational skills since delivery of integrated courses is complex. Excellent communication skills are essential since the Course Director will interact with a large number of pharmacy student, faculty members, and instructional staff members. The Course Director must also serve as an exemplary professional practitioner to all students. A strong commitment to continuous quality improvement is also important because the PharmD program is committed to excellence. The Course Director will work collaboratively with the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs and Accreditation in accomplishing outcomes assessment related to the Patient Care courses. Minimum Requirements: The applicant should have a PharmD degree with advanced clinical practice experience (e.g., residency, fellowship, board certification, significant experience as an advanced clinical practitioner). Eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate or full Professor. Experience in using multiple teaching methods (e.g., lectures, large group active learning, and small group active learning) and in coordinating courses. Experience in working in an administrative capacity with keen attention to organization and detail. Eligible for Licensure as a pharmacist in Florida. FDLE Criminal Background Check Required.
