The University of Cincinnati invites applicants for an Educator track Accounting Professor position in the Lindner College of Business, beginning in Fall 2015. UC has a large accounting program, with 700 undergraduate majors, a Master of Science in Accounting, a Master of Science in Taxation, and a doctoral program.

Primary responsibilities involve teaching and related service activities. High quality teaching is expected; teaching load and rank will be determined commensurate with teaching credentials, prior professional accounting experience, and prior research productivity. Sustained academic and professional engagement is required, and publishing in quality refereed professional, pedagogical, and/or academic journals are desirable. Expectations may be described in their letters of appointment and their unit reappointment and promotion criteria.  


Qualification: Required qualifications include professional accounting work experience and a US professional accounting certification. Minimum educational qualifications include a master's degree in an accounting related area from a US AACSB accredited institution.  


Preferred qualifications include a doctorate in accounting from an AACSB accredited institution; experience teaching introductory, upper-division, and graduate accounting courses at a US AACSB accredited institution, with evidence of effective classroom outcomes; the ability to interact effectively and professionally with the business community; and a passion and ability for teaching, mentoring students, and building quality academic programs. Applicants who have held previous tenure track positions at AACSB accredited institutions, demonstrated the ability to work with other faculty, and recent refereed publications will be especially valued. Candidates must possess both written and spoken English fluency, and provide evidence of such throughout the interview process.  


Selection for and renewal in this position requires sufficient sustained academic and professional engagement under AACSB guidelines.  Strong preference will be given to those considered a "Scholarly Academic" under AACSB guidelines, with lessor preference in order given to "Practice Academics," "Scholarly Practitioners," and "Instructional Practitioners."
