The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director, Graduate Programs and Research in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.

 

Graduate Program Admissions:
*Design and implement procedures for review applications for admission for assigned programs
*Design and implement process for collecting and reviewing supplemental application materials (e.g. portfolios)
*Administer college graduate student orientation, including coordination with specific graduate programs for program specific orientation

Graduate Award Administration:
*Develop, maintain, and distribute system for tracking and calculating graduate program scholarships and stipends
*Monitor graduate awards for compliance with Graduate School policies and procedures, compliance with donor intent, and sufficient availability of resources
*Ensure compliance with Graduate School guidelines for template award notifications
*Process award notifications on behalf of graduate program coordinators/Associate Dean
*Develop and implement a graduate assistant evaluation systems
*Provide administrative support (including such items as development of narratives, collection of documentation, content level review, etc.) for curriculum review, new program development, graduate certifications, and other related graduate program administrative tasks
*Serve as alternate/delegate academic advising contact for current students

Graduate Program Recruitment:
*Working with graduate program coordinators and college communication's director, coordinate the development of graduate recruitment materials
*Develop and implement recruitment strategies for assigned programs with graduate program coordinators
*Serve as primary administrative contact and alternate academic contact for prospective students in the absence of graduate program coordinator

External Funding Administration
*Provide grant writing assistance to principle investigators
*Provide content level review for grant proposals
*Serve as delegate college approver for grant proposals
*Provide administrative oversight of non-SRS sponsored research (e.g. funding through UCRI or similar)
*Develop and implement comprehensive tracking mechanisms for externally funded projects, including grants, UCRI, gifts, or other contracts  

 

Job Description: Under general supervision from a designated administrator, develop, plan, and oversee the operational activities of university programs.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 3 years experience; OR associate degree with 5 years experience; OR 7 years experience. Degree must be in a related field. Experience must be in administration of programs. Experience must include at least 1 year supervision.  

 

Position Qualification: Bachelor's degree with 3 years experience. Degree must be in student affairs or a related field OR visual arts related discipline (design, fine arts, architecture, planning, or similar). Experience must be in administration of programs. Experience must include at least 1 year supervision.  

 

Ideal Qualifications: Graduate degree in student affairs or related field OR visual arts related discipline (design, fine arts, architecture, planning, or similar).

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Prior experience with large enterprise student information systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle/PeopleSoft, etc.)

Prior experience with large enterprise grant management systems (e.g. Coeus, etc.)
