The Program in African American and Diaspora Studies at Vanderbilt University seeks a scholar of comparative Diaspora Studies, Religious Studies, or Latin American Studies for a three-year, non-tenure-track appointment as Mellon Assistant Professor of African American and Diaspora Studies.  Candidates must have PhD in hand before the start of the appointment in fall 2014 or spring semester 2015, whichever semester is most feasible for the selected candidate. In addition, in accordance with Mellon Foundation guidelines, applicants must have received the Ph.D. no more than four years from the start of the position.
