Job Description: 

This position is part of the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering (SCIDSE) Research Advancement Team. This position is to be primarily dedicated to post-award management but may include coverage of pre-award functions (such as proposal preparation and submission) during high volume deadlines.  Under administrative direction, this position has the responsibility of providing high-level post-award accounting support for both sponsored and local accounts.


Essential Duties: 

The ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of faculty, staff, and students; interpret and guide students, faculty and staff with adhering to and complying with university, college, school, and sponsored guidelines;


Analyzes, reconciles, and reports financial information on existing sponsored,local and state accounts; forecasts account deficits and residual balances, and gathers and analyzes information from the Dashboard, My Reports and other sources for customized detail and summary reports;


Responds to inquiries (students, faculty, Staff, ORSPA,  EDO, OKED, etc.) in a timely manner using effective interpersonal communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills and methods as appropriate to address questions and/or concerns;


Position responsibilities also includes working with the University budget preparation process.


Maintains and continually improve technology skills to be able to efficiently and effectively solve challenges and forecast trends;


Works under deadlines, manages multiple responsibilities and duties, with interruptions, and in unclear and/or changing situations;


Manages and reviews for accuracy records regarding effort reporting, cost sharing, and faculty commitments.


Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Three years of experience in a field appropriate to the area/unit of assignment OR Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications: 

Experience Producing financial reports and budget development.


Experience problem solving, critical thinking, and time management skills; demonstrated evidence of multitasking while producing accurate output; demonstrated evidence of meeting deadlines for multiple projects.


Experience working independently as well as a member of a team.


Knowledge of a wide variety of sponsors with complex requirements including NSF, NIH, DOE, ONR, DARPA, AFOSR, AFRL, DTRA, and SFAz.


Demonstrated knowledge of:  higher education, Board of Regents practices, RSP policies and procedures, and Sponsored Research.


Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills and a high level of customer service.


Technology skills including Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Pro Acrobat experience.


Working Environment

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended period of sitting.  Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.  Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties.  Ability to work both independently or within a complex structured team.  Normally receives no instructions on routine work and general instructions on new assignments with review of complete
